Why Do Web Standards Matter To Me?
In short, because your site will appear differently on different computers. This is due to the variation in monitor screen sizes - you site needs to look good on large screens as well as palm-held computers and mobile phones - and browser types (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari etc). Even colour can look markedly different between one computer and another.
Being a relatively young medium (the internet didn't exist before 1980!), web construction is also still evolving, and the coding constantly being updated and old methods becoming obselete.
The W3C
The World Wide Web Consortium (also known as W3C), is the main international standards organization for the world wide web. It was founded and is headed by Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the internet. The consortium issues recommendation for current best practices in code writing.
In order to make sure that your site looks fantastic, whatever the monitor or browser type used, Baloogi only use the most up-to-date coding types, and all our sites are validated by the W3C.
Why We Don't Sell Templates
Templates and 'build-your-own-website' type applications tend to produce poor quality code. This can lead to problems at the publishing stage, and many use 'depreciated tags', meaning that they may not work properly as new browser versions are released.
At Baloogi every website is constructed from scratch, exactly to our customer's requirements using the most up-to-date coding (Strict XHTML 1.0 and CSS Level 2.1).
